Came to A&E 23rd December unable to pass urine - going to be kept in over night to see urologist in the morning as none are on call at night. 5.30 am told to go home as bloods okay uroglogy would be in touch. 2 weeks later after numerous phone calls as booking clerk on holiday an appoitment was made (3weeks after trouble and still no diagnosis ). Appointment day arrived at urology clinic to see urologist only to be informed this was a nurse led catheter clinic still no urologist. The nurse more less told us she thought it was going to be a waste of time as we should have seen a urologist - wrong referral! Nothing in hospital notes since 2016.
Where were A&E notes? Catheter changed and replaced more time and resources wasted.
Referred back to my GP for a referrsl to see a urologist. GP who is excellent immediadely did referral marked URGENT -still waiting now over 5 weeks and no answer as to cause of problem !!!!!!!
"Double whammy between them and A&E"
