I have just had surgery and then recovered on ward 3. I didn’t get into the ward until nearly midnight but straight away there was an amazing team ready to look after me.
As a patient you see just how very hard all of the nurses, HCA’s and students work to make sure we are all looked after.
On a couple of occasions they were short staffed but everyone even under extreme pressure remained happy, upbeat and professional, at NO point did I think my care was suffering. It felt like some of the staff literally only went home for a couple of hours before they were back again for an extra shift.
I would like to say a special thank you to the Professor and his surgical team, you were all fabulous.
I can’t thank you all enough for your care and compassion during my stay on Ward 3.
Not all superheroes wear capes Xx
