"Treated horribly in A&E, really disappointed"

About: University College Hospital

I'm so upset and disappointed at the way I was treated when I attended the urgent care centre. I was having stabbing chest pain and feeling quite unwell so when I arrived I was a bit tearful. The reception staff were lovely but when it came to being assessed by the triage nurse, they saw I was upset and didn't even ask if I was ok, just proceeded to ask me what was wrong. When I told them and they asked how long I clearly didn't answer quickly enough because I'd barely began to answer before they barked "HOW LONG." I tried to explain my other symptoms after telling them but they weren't interested, just took my vitals and chucked a mask at me to wear because of my flu symptoms. Didn't even bother telling me what it was. Lucky I happened to know!

I hoped my experience with the doctor would be better but I was really wrong. When they called me I asked if I could take the mask off and they LAUGHED AT ME and asked me why I was wearing it anyway. WHAT. Turned out they didn't even know what was going on as the nurse who had barked at me about my chest pain told them I had abdominal pain.

So again this doctor took my vitals and happily they were all in range, nothing wrong which was great, but basically made me feel like I was a massive time waster for coming in. You know, even though I had incredibly uncomfortable chest pain which the advice is always to get checked out. From this point they didn't even say anything, just sat writing on a piece of paper and grunting if I asked a question. I asked if I could get something for the pain at least. They said shortly,"paracetamol." I advised I'd been taking lots of paracetamol and ibuprofen with little success and they literally scribbled and chucked a prescription at me. So so cold.

I then left feeling really upset and took my prescription to pharmacy, where the person behind the counter, behind a glass screen, saw I was upset and switched off her microphone and started talking to me about god. Absolute circus.
