I never thought I would have to write this story. But here goes .September 2017 diagnosed with stone in gallbladder. March 2018 saw consultant told gallbladder needs to come out. I asked how long would that be before I get done, was told July or August 2018. During the time waiting I experienced frequent bouts of pain sickness.
I phone in August when had not heard and was told there is 400 on the wait list. Not what I wanted to hear. I was offered Elgin I said I could not go I had no transport plus I had other medical issues that I was not discussing with a secretary. Then I was told well we can get you in for pre anaesthetic check. Which I got appointment for beginning September. Again I waited during the time I was again in agony over festive period and at beg January 2019. again I phoned and said my time had run out on anaesthetic check I was told it lasted 6 months I said on letter it said 3 months.
Any way it was nearly 6 months again I was offered Elgin and Glasgow again I said why I could not go. And that I was well past the waiting times which originally was 12 weeks but I looked up the wait time and it said 20 weeks I am well past that time. I am now so depressed at this situation along with probably a lot of others I feel so down. All I want is to have gallbladder removed. I took the steps by lodging a complaint to NHS Grampian something I did not want to do as I nursed within this Trust for over 30 years so I do know the pressure that it is under.
All I want is to have my gallbladder removed so I can get on with my retirement. My MSP is in process of sending a letter in support to the Chief Executive. Hopefully I will have some good news soon. As I feel I have been failed by my own Health Board and this makes me sad.
