On 1st February at about 8am I was taken down for a colonoscopy,I was extremely worried as I had had a bad experience of a previous one, I am disabled in a wheelchair and I have a great deal of pain especially when moving to certain positions etc. On arrival in the department I was greeted by extremely friendly, helpful professional staff who put my mind at rest, I requested sedation (I wasn’t given the option for my previous one),the staff said they would definitely make sure that I would have as comfortable a procedure as possible and that I would receive sedation, pain relief and gas and air as/when I needed it.
All the staff in the procedure room were extremely kind and explained everything that was happening, advising me when to breathe in the gas and air so that I wouldn’t experience any pain.
I must say a huge thank you to all the staff in the Endoscopy/ Oncology department who made what could have been a difficult painful procedure for me a painless straightforward procedure for me.
Once again I must Thank everybody, all the staff and a special thank you to the dcotor who made certain that I had sedation and painkillers and was really kind : Thank you .
