"Respectful, friendly, effective"

About: Old Town Surgery

I've been visiting Swindon Old Town Surgery since 2013.

I have a relatively chunky set of health problems, and my wife has even more complex health problems; both of us have found medical assistance in the past to be difficult to get good results from.

In my wife's case she also has conditions about which many GPs are noticeably ignorant.

What I get from Old Town Surgery: respect for the patient, always, from everyone on staff.

A high degree of professionalism coupled with a suitable, polite, but comforting level of friendliness.

From the Nurses I get the best handling of the difficulties associated with my health conditions I could possibly wish for.

From the GP I and my family get the kind of care you always want but certainly don't always get; transparent and frank admission where his personal knowledge ends; remediation of that knowledge gap before our next appointment (how he finds the time I do NOT know!); and a focus on finding the most helpful thing he can offer, patient-focused, without just trying to get the patient out of the way as quickly as possible.

I never feel like our GP takes short cuts to get a temporary fix in place.

I never feel treated like a number.

I trust the staff, the nurses, and the doctors at this surgery literally with my child's life, and I can't make a higher recommendation than that.

My only desire would be that they had more resources, because they do know what to do with them!
