"Aberdeen maternity hospital"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

I had a really difficult labour with my second baby which resulted in an emergency csection which was very scary but the staff on labour ward we’re just amazing, My midwife Hannah was terrific and so caring. My heart had a bit of a wobble just before the section and the room was filled with so much people but I would just like to thank them all for the tremendous job they do and for getting both me and my baby boy through safely.

The midwife who was there for the birth and who looked after us in the high dependency afterwards was the same midwife who was with us 7 years earlier when my daughter was born which is kind of special to me.

I’m grateful every day for our NHS and for the wonderful staff who work and look after us.

Dear Jen34

Thank you for taking the time to get in touch and tell us about your experience. It sounds like you had a pretty tough labour, and that can be very scary. I'm delighted that you felt cared for and reassured by Hannah and the Labour Ward team, and that it was that extra bit special for you being cared for in HDU by a midwife you knew. It does make a difference to have a familiar face. I will ensure that they receive your lovely feedback.

I hope you are recovering well, and settling into life with your new baby. I wish you all the very best and many congratulations.

Jane
