Although I had to wait a long time to be seen by the leg ulcer clinic once I had been assessed and treatment had started I have not looked back. Initially I needed to attend daily for the treatment and dressings to be changed, with nurses coming to my house at the week end. I was in a very bad way at the time, needing to take morphine to manage the pain. As the ulcer got better this was gradually reduced to the point where, now, I do not need to go back till next January.
All of the team who provide treatment at a number of different hospitals have been great. Each one of the nurses has been delightful, kind, gentle and sympathetic. I cannot find words good enough to praise the treatment I received.
