"Poor"

About: Leicester General Hospital

My mum, who is 89, was admitted to Ward 28 on Thu 31 January.

At midnight on Sat 2 February she was moved to Ward 20.

I totally understand the need for beds in the assessment centre, but to move an 89 year old at midnight is not satisfactory.

This disoriented and upset her.

Then on Sunday 3 February she was told at about 3.30 pm that she would be discharged.

The doctor was very officious and certainly did not have any bedside manner. We waited until 7.30 pm and there was still no sign of a discharge letter and antibiotics.

I cannot understand why it would take so long to organise a discharge letter.

As it happened, the sister let my mum leave without the discharge letter (although I'm sure she shouldn't have) but with the antibiotics.

The treatment by the sisters and nurses was good.
