"Wonderful part Hospices play"

About: St Lukes Hospice

(as the patient),

I went to St Luke's Hospice after a quadruple heart bypass and a stroke. I felt so helpless and low and thought this was the last step in my life. How wrong I was.Going there just once a week got me in a positive frame of mind as the staff where all so caring and very special. They helped me walk and get back my confidence, They even sent a volunteer one a week to get me out and walk a little way up the road. Now I have improved so much I can walk properly again I don't go to the Hospice as much only to a drop in centre they have.  I don't really know how I would have been without them. A wonderful place.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to hear that attending the hospice weekly and receiving volunteer support at home has helped to improve your confidence and independence.
