"mesh surgeries"

About: Lister Hospital / General surgery Pinehill Hospital Spire Healthcare

(as a service user),

After the birth of my 3rd child I needed stomach muscle repair and bladder op due to stress incontinence. I was meant to have them both on the same day which didn't happen so was months apart, both times at Lister Hospital cutting my tummy as though I be had a c section, and both times repairing a umbilical hernia at the same time.

The bladder op went well then 8 weeks later I needed another hernia op on my side and informed them at Spire Harpenden who didn't have my notes and it was a private hospital I was sent to, then after surgery I noticed my incontinence came back, it had been undone by mistake even though I told them about it. My bladder surgeon wasn't pleased as he wasn't informed I was having this hernia op and he didn't consult him before hand, so I needed another bladder op a different way.

I had shooting pain down back of legs after a while and struggled to walk; hips pain and coxics while sitting or moving, ivd had physio and pain injections. After hernia ops I've had bulging and pain ever since and had more hernia in the same place not long, just had my 4th umbilical hernia repair at Pinehill which I'm in terrible pain with screaming out when sneeze cough or rolling onto my side causing sleep disturbance and so on.

So I've had another bladder op which since I had it done caused shooting pains down my inner thigh and urethra agonising pain making me jump, needle like scrating and still urgency to go to the toilet in time. My sex life is ok but painful having to change positions not to hurt me, I wouldn't be able to go to a gym or do any sort of strenuous activities

I'm now being told I need to have my muscles tightened meaning another opens up surgery but I could end up dry and needing to self catherterise..at 35 after all this pain and upset I'm not willing to do this too, my life has got worse when I was meant to be getting better and I'm at a brick wall at what to do or how to go about it and just want to be normal and pain free it's been 4-5 years of hell
