"Its about my daughter"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / General Medicine

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter has severe autism, and each time she has to go in for a blood test, it gets messed up.

Most recent was two weeks ago, it happened again. After the blood tests were sent off, the Dr got back to me and said the results have gone missing.

I can't find the words to tell my severely autistic daughter that she has to go through that whole process again. This has happened before, it took 3 attempts last time.

What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen again? I find this whole situation disgusting.

Thank you for your comments and we are sorry that your daughter has had such a poor experience.

We would like to understand a bit more about what has gone wrong. Please can you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Team (PALS) on medwayft.pals@nhs.net or 01634 825004 and provide them with your daughter's details and they will be able to help.

Kindest regards,

The Patient Experience Team
