"Shortage of beds but still 1st class care and..."

About: University College Hospital

Admitted to UCH on Friday for urgent tooth extractions prior to cancer treatment.

From the moment I arrived I felt cared for and reassured.

What I had been fearful of was over in the blink of an eye.

I was woken in the recovery room and received kindness and high quality care throughout the day.

I needed to stay in hospital overnight, as did many other patients and because they ran out of beds on the wards stayed in the recovery room.

Taking into account this room is actually not designed for overnight stays the staff did an amazing job, maintaining high standards of care along with dignity, kindness and compassion.

A huge thank you to each and every one of you.

Discharge the following day took longer than it should have due to the pharmacy not prioritising prescriptions (3-4 hours) which is an issue for management to resolve, however this does not detract from the amazing service.

The staff were all lovely.

Thank you.
