"Seven and half hours waiting"

About: Croydon University Hospital

Was brought in by ambulance and was made to wait 6 hours before seeing a doctor and to be giving a blood test which even now I still don’t have the results for and that I should come back tomorrow to see another department to get further testing . I arrived there at seven twenty and I ended up leaving at 1.30 as I was unable stay any longer as I was in critical pain and they were not doing anything substantial about it other than prolonging my pain . Worst experience of a hospital service especially as i was told it would be an hour and and half wait it turned into seven plus hours. I felt so critical that I had to take my already critical self to another hospital with much speedier and efficient working service.

I am very sorry that you had a poor experience. I have been unable, from the information provided, to identify who was responsible for your care and treatment.

Please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service ( PALS) so that this can be investigated further.

Our PALS office may be contacted by telephone on 020 8401 3210 or by email at ch-tr.pals@nhs.net. The office is open during the week from 9am to 4:45pm

Kind Regards

Sarah Pritchard, Patient Experience Manager
