About: University Hospital Monklands / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

I had to attend day surgery unit at monklands January 

I received a nice welcome into the unit from a Csw who took me to changing area and explained about the lockers etc . I then was taken into a separate room and a staff nurse Lynn was very reassuring as I was a bit nervous the unit was spotless clean and nursing staff all very friendly and approachable 

I just feel really let down with the doctors that I feel hadn't explained much or afterwards really didn't give much information about how the procedure went 

If it wasn't for nursing staff my experience would have been terrifying and once again I must stress the staff on that morning were fantastic ( just a pity the doctors were not the same )

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience as a patient in the Day Surgery Unit at University Hospital Monklands.

I am pleased that the Day Surgery staff were able to put you at ease and make this a much less stressful experience for you. I am sorry that you feel let down by communication with medical staff during your admission and note your concern at the level of information you received regarding your procedure.
