I have a complex surgical history and cannot fault the medical care received. The nursing ‘care’ is another matter. SAU is full of bank nurses who really do not care. They do not introduce themselves and I was NBM with bowel obstruction and waiting 4 hrs for IV fluids. Each time I asked the nurses looked at me as an annoyance and said ‘it’s on the board and someone will get round to it’. When the fluids ran out it was the same process all over again!
They only time they did something immediately was when I could go home and the ‘nurse’ very promptly removed my cannula.
Furthermore for a ward with a lot of patients with bowel problems who require the bathroom a lot...they are absolutely filthy! They seem to be cleaned only once daily for the duration of my stay there. Absolutely disgraceful.
"SAU nurses by far the worse I’ve come across in..."
