"Accident and emergency for 3 month baby"

About: Bedford Hospital South Wing

I took my 3 1/2 month daughter to a and e at around 2:00am on the 27th January. The care she received was outstanding. She was assessed almost immediately and because of a high heart rate she was seen by a paediatric nurse within 5 minutes. Due to vomiting from calpol and persistent crying she was given a blood test to find out whether there was anything sinister wrong with her. I was so glad they did this as it ruled out sepsis which I was really concerned about. Despite my daughter kicking and smiling a couple of hours after we arrived they didn’t discharge her until they were convinced she was well. I was so impressed with how thorough all of the staff were and how good the communication between the nurses, doctors and paediatric doctors (who were on a different ward) was. I can’t thank them enough!
