"Could not get seen, deemed not urgent enough"

About: Watford General Hospital

I went to see my doctor as I have had herpes simplex in my eye in the past which left scarring and I almost lost my vision. The doctor could not test for the herpes at the surgery so sent an email that afternoon on 31/01/2019 I had not phone call from the urgent eye clinic that day. I called first thing the next day 01/02/2019 and apparently yes they had received my referral but according to the receptionist 'Doctors make out like things are more urgent than they actually are' I explained my situation and he said well they are full for today and the next appointment would have to be 04/02/2019.

This is just not acceptable, my eye sight was getting worse, I have had to wait from seeing my doctor almost 5 days! I decided to go to Moorfields A&E where they diagnosed me with herpes and have given me a course of treatment. I have also tried to cancel the appointment with Watford this morning but no one is picking up the phone. Very disappointed, and angry at the way I have been treated and the dismissive nature of my doctor.
