"Lack of communication."

About: Princess Alexandra Hospital (Harlow)

My partner came to A&E after a suspected miscarriage. After a total wait of 7 hours, with a cannula dangling from her hand, we finally got to see a gynaecologist just after midnight. He was very surprised at the information we gave him, which was information we had already given to several different people. At this point they finally took the urine sample away (we’d been carrying around for 3 hours at this point). The nurse then returned and happily waved a positive pregnancy test in our faces before leaving the cubicle. To say we were speechless would be an understatement. The sheer lack of communication between staff in the same room, let alone different departments, is incomprehensible to me.

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you so much for making contact, at what I realise must be a difficult time.

We have not got this right. Please get in touch and let us know more about what happened so we can address this. The best way to make contact is by email to pals@pah.nhs.uk or by calling 01279827211, Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm. We look forward to hearing from you and addressing the issues.
