"Victoria Infirmary and New Victoria Hospital - simply the best"

People who take ill such as myself and live in the South Side are all in close proximity to both the New Victoria Hospital and Victoria Infirmary. The very idea of losing the Victoria Infirmary is devastating. The Southern General Hospital is miles away both for patients and their families on this part of the South Side.

The Victoria Infirmary was where my doctor send me straight from my medical centre. An ambulance took me there in approx 5-10 minutes. I received excellent attention both in A&E and in ward 6 - an extremely busy ward, spotlessly clean, well managed by hard working staff. After being there for a week I now attend regular visits to the New Victoria Hospital just aross the road. I live only 10 minutes (walking distance) from both hospitals. Simply the best - both together.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to provide your very kind and thoughtful comments about your experience at the Victoria Infirmary and the new Victoria Hospital. The in patient services provided at the Victoria Infirmary will be replaced by state of the art facilities at the new South Glasgow Hospital, in 2015, but the bulk of routine and follow up care will continue to be provided at the new Victoria Hospital.

It means a great deal to staff to read these comments, and I am very grateful that you did so.

Once again please accept my thanks for sending us these comments. Staff involved in caring for you will be delighted that you appreciated the care provided to you.
