"My daughter and her treatment"

About: University Hospital Of North Tees / General surgery

(as a relative),

Sometime last year my daughter went into the urgent care at north tees with a suspected appendicitis. They took blood, she wasn't vomiting, they sent her away. A week later she was admitted to the surgical decisions ward because her appendix had burst. She was put on drips, given very high doses of antibiotics, they couldn't operate because the appendix had tried to heal itself and in the process had become bonded with other organs. If they took the appendix they would then have to take parts of other organs with it. She was very frightened by this and It was awful to see her in so much pain. It was also upsetting that they did not take her seriously the first time she went to them with the problem - because if they had then the situation would have been so much easier to deal with, they could have removed the appendix and that would have been the end of the matter.

After a number of days my daughter was discharged from the hospital although she still on antibiotics - and told to go back in she experienced any further problems.
Move forward to this year - she is now once again suffering.
She went to the GP who sent her back to the medical decisions unit at North Tees where the nurses were lovely, gave her a bed and they hooked a drip up saying that they could understand why she was back in and that they thought she would be admitted. They took blood from her. Then the surgeon came and examined her, told her that it is just menstrual camps, her bloods had come back clear, she wasn't vomiting and so discharged her! She tried to insist it was not just menstrual cramps, she insisted that they do a scan and the surgeon refused but eventually said they would send out an appointment for a scan in the post!
So now - today - she is sitting at home feeling unwell and still in pain. Couldn't get her children to school because she couldn't go out because of the pain. She knows its not menstrual cramps as the pain that she is experiencing is different, and she knows it her appendix again - its the same type of pain. I can see she is in pain when she moves. She can't lay down on her side because its too painful. And she is too scared to go back because they dismissed her!
So what is she supposed to do - does she now wait until it has burst again, and go through the same traumatic experience all over again?

Personally I think they should have admitted her and given her a scan. I believe that North Tees have acted negligently. I am very unhappy with my daughters treatment -  this time if she has to wait until it all goes wrong then I will not hesitate to sue them!
