"A valuable and professional service which I really..."

About: Hereford County Hospital

What I liked

I was treated well from the moment I went in. Although I had to wait a few hours for my operation I received good explanations about the wait. I had privacy and information. After my operation the ward (Women's Health) was excellent. It was clean and we had an ensuite bathroom. Excellent treatment and clinical care was provided. Overall I feel I had excellent service from the doctors and nurses.

What could be improved

The only thing I could suggest that could be improved is for a patient's belongings to be brought to the ward when they are moved from recovery. My bags were left in the day case area and some patients would worry more than others about their personal belongings being unavailable. Mine were brought to the ward after I asked for them but another patient did not get her things until next day. Collecting them seemed to be the responsibility of the (busy) nurses and I don't see why the porters could not transport them when they bring the patient back from theatre. It's reassuring to have ones belongings near the bed and not to have to ask for them

Anything else?

I would recommend Hereford to anyone needing gyny treatment
