On the 20th June 2018 I had my 2nd total hip replacement, both done at Barlbirough, unfortunately my experience this time was totally different from the first, this was due to no fault of the nursing staff, they were brilliant, but I had problems after the operation, I could not walk, only shuffle with a walking frame and was in alot of pain, I was sent home on day 2 with said walking frame and told not to even tackle the stairs, I had to ring my doctor for morphine after a couple of days as the painkillers I was given were not working and my leg was very swollen, I would have liked to understand why I was so badly affected but was offered no. Explanation and did not get a chance to discuss this with the surgeons, the physiotherapist at the hospital was quite harsh with me which only made me want to go home. I would recommend Barlbirough to anyone but this treatment just made me feel like I was on a production line and no one was interested, the staff work so hard and generally are very good, I thought they were just to busy to notice individual problems. However my hip now is brilliant and I no longer have any problems with it. Thankyou to all of you. Angela from Lincoln
