After complaining a lot about pain whenever I was touched, it wasn't until I was actually giving birth that the Dr noticed I had had an allergic reaction to the induction gel, there was nothing that could be done at this point. Midwife had said I shouldn't feel pain when on an epidural! They then kicked my husband out when there was no one on my ward and we didn't have a car so he had to find a taxi at 11.30pm (there should have been no harm letting him stay).
Several delays with test results, I should have been discharged on the Monday, but due to late test results on two occasions, I was discharged on the Thursday. I was kept on a ward watching other mothers leave until I broke down in tears to one midwife (others had ignored me) and she suggested a private room on my last night - I should have been given one from Monday due to their errors, but I didn't know to ask for one!! During the change I was left without a bed for several hours (CQC actually interviewed me during that period). One midwife had ignored me when I said my son wouldn't feed, she said let us know in 6 hours if there's any change. Before that time was over my son had a breakdown and I couldn't console him, help finally came who only criticised me and was quite insulting. Another said there wasn't enough staff to support with expressing milk; I had only asked for a syringe as I had mastered it by then and had to reassure them I knew what I was doing. It was a horrific experience.
"Terrible experience"
