"Experience in A&E with Mental health problems"

About: Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust / Liaison psychiatry

(as the patient),

I was taken to A&E by police officers following a suicide attempt, due to ongoing Mental health issues. I felt the staff there had little understanding and were very patronising. I also felt that their Psych liason person was really ignorant to my issues and had already made his mind up before coming to speak to me. The only person who really seemed interested in listening to me was the medical Dr, who obviously had no control over what the MH team decided.
