"unhelpful and not caring"

About: Rotherham Hospital

I had surgery at the beginning of December and as im on immune suppressants my stitches needed to be out no later than 2 weeks after surgery which I was told they would take a week to dissolve, during this week I attended with what I thought was an infection, the doctor I sore googled my condition, my medication and the surgery I had just had in front of me on his phone. I normally have to have IV antibiotic because of my condition, the doctor said "im not saying you don't need IV but lets wait a few days to see how it is then?" I left feeling like they just couldn't be bothered. I then rang a month later after visiting the nurse at my gp and having 1 of the 2 stitches I had left removed - she couldn't get one of them out so the nurse advised to call b11 ward, which I did and she asked which stitch it was without even asking for any of my details so I told her what colour and where it was situated, she told me this was a stitch that was meant to stay in for 3 months and that the ward would do nothing to help me. I needed it taking out so I could start taking my medication that I needed desperately. I then didn't know what to do so cut it and removed it myself. The nurse at my GP surgery said it needed taking out as soon as possible as the area looked sore and inflamed. I wont ever go back to this ward. I myself work for the nhs and wouldn't ever treat a patient the way I was treated or make any of my patients feel how I felt.
