This service is a shambles...

My child had an ASC assessment which was ment to be a 40 hour assesement more like 3 hours! The report they gave me stated totally different to what the school had fillied in on their questionnaire camhs gave them. I have all this in black & white...

I would not trust this service at all!!!

We are sorry you are unhappy with our service. We provide a part of the assessment for Autistic Spectrum Disorder which is guided by the recommendations in NICE guidelines. We are unable to comment on individual cases publicly, however the usual clinical assessments, observations, psychometric testing, scoring and interpretation, and report writing usually take approximately 40 hours. However this may vary from case to case; in some cases some of these assessments may have already taken place. For example we would not repeat a cognitive functioning test if this had been recently done as part of an educational assessment. I would suggest if you are not happy with your assessment that you contact the service managers to discuss this or alternatively contact the Patient Experience Team on 01529 222265
