I had my second cataract operation at the Royal Surrey Eye Unit. The surgeon was very kind, helped me to feel relaxed and kept me informed throughout the procedure. He is gentle and friendly and also gives you a sense of confidence because he is thorough and extremely careful. I had my previous eye surgery at Optegra where I felt a bit like a chicken on a conveyor belt, there was no discussion, no options for anesthetic were offered and no cup of tea. I would recommend The Royal Surrey Eye Unit as being a more caring and my recovery has been far more rapid.
