Attended st hillier hospital on Sept 25th with my mother of 92 who had a bad fall during the night. Found her on the bedroom floor at approx 4 am waited an hour and a half for 999 ambulance to arrive. she was bleeding heavily as she had degloved both the backs of her legs. waited in a+e for over three hours before we were moved to another ward (room). when they moved her to this room the porter asked her to jump from the trolley to the bed. when I said she was unable to move he shoved a board under her and basically throw her on to the waiting bed pinching her arm between the board and bed tearing her skin. He said oh swear word then moved the bandage up her arm to cover the tear. then left when I told the nurse she said oh dear and that was it.
after several; hours they decided to bandage my mother's legs no coverings on the exposed flesh just dry bandage. when we expressed horror the nurse walked off and returned half hour later with a plaster. Don't know who taught this so called nurse but my sister who was a nurse/sister/matron /hosp exec with 40yrs experience redressed my mother's legs at home. Would not put a dog in this hospital by choice. have a further review to add after another fall but too annoyed at the moment will add later.
"Still waiting."
