"Why is it SO difficult to get an appointment..."

About: Farfield Group Practice

Rang the surgery for an appointment with the Doctor I usually see, she wasn't working that week and was asked to ring back the following week, Did as I was asked, but no appointments as they had all gone, (This was before 9.AM) I rang again at 11.30 and the afternoon appointments had been taken as well. So frustrating.

We are very sorry to hear that you have had difficulty in booking an appointment at the Surgery.

Nationally and locally we have seen an unprecedented demand on Primary Care Services which has affected us here at Farfield.

We are working hard to offer as many appointments as we can in a variety of ways to help meet this demand.

As well as our daily telephone triage service we have prebookable and book on the day appointments.

Along with other local practices we provide evening appointments Monday to Friday up to 8pm and morning weekend appointments on Saturday and Sunday. We are aware that if a patient wishes to see a particular GP there may be a longer wait to be seen and that is can be difficult to obtain an on the day appointment with a named GP.

For patients receiving regular ongoing care we advise these patients book their next prebookable with GP of choice in advance of their planned follow up.

Practice Manager
