Visited the HG unit and received fantastic care, consideration and treatment. Was seen to very quick despite waiting room being very full and nurse over seeing my care was very professional.
However upon a recent visit for concerns in my pregnancy I was firstly spoken to quite rudely up on ringing triage, the woman who took my call wrongly referred me to a&e. After a wait in a&e I was told they should not have sent me here and that whomever took my call was "playing politics" as I'd be sent back to them regardless and should not have been sent to a&e regardless. The a&e staff were very good though and moved as quickly as possible.
Upon finally going up to the EPU, the ladies on reception were quite abrupt in their manner and huffed at me as they took my notes. They treated another lady whom arrived after me in a similar fashion. The doctor turned out to be the lady who dealt with us behind reception was very very rude and patronizing in her manner, she ignored most of what I had to say and insisted I must be wrong in my concerns despite bleeding and pain and having carried out no checks thus far. She spoke down to me repeatedly. Myself and my partner came away feeling upset and with no real reassurance and feeling as if we had burdened the staff. This doctor truly let the unit down in her manner and lack of professionalism, where as the rest of the staff had been fantastic and kind.
"Hit and miss"
