I changed over from the countess of Chester hospital to Arrowe Park as there were some issues during my last pregnancy and birth which meant I wasn’t comfortable going ahead with my most recent pregnancy under the care of the Countess.
I have to say that the level of care I received at Arrowe Park was above and beyond any of my expectations and the contrast in the two hospitals is huge. I was booked in for an elected c-section on the 16th January but my waters broke the early hours of the 15th the day before. They basically had to do my section early as an emergency. I did have heavy bleeding which they found difficult to stop but this was due to it being my 5th and last c-section. I was given blood. All staff communicated with me throughout and I was kept fully informed. I was kept in the high dependency bit for quite some time and they did everything to ensure I made a full recovery. Obs done often, antibiotics, fluids the works and although it hadn’t gone exactly how I would have liked(no fault of the hospital)
I cannot fault one member of staff for their hard work and caring nature. I am truly thankful and I made a great recovery. Our baby daughter was fine throughout and staff even helped to feed and change her when I was struggling to do so. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hospital for maternity services to anyone. I am glad I chose to go here. Thank you all.
