I visited the breast clinic yesterday after a referral from my GP.
The receptionist was very welcoming, checked some details with me and showed me to the waiting area.
I was 20 mins early for my appointment but was called in almost straightaway.
I was examined by a doctor and advised of what would happen next.
I was also given some information by a nurse in a small, well presented pack.
I was then shown back to the waiting room to wait for my mammogram, a wait of a few minutes.
The lady doing the mammogram was very nice, explaining everything every step of the way.
I was then shown back to the waiting area to wait for my results and a further ultrasound scan.
A wait of around 5-10 and I was called in to see a radiographer doctor who assured me my mammogram was fine and carried out a thorough US scan and told me all ok.
At every stage I felt well informed and kept up to date with everything that was happening and every single member of staff I met was helpful and smily....even the nurses I passed in the corridor in the clinic.
I was treat with dignity and empathy at all times and I feel this should be commended as the lead up to the appointment was a very difficult and worrying time.
