I was admitted to Day Surgery at the New Victoria Hospital in Glasgow in February 2012 for Knee Arthroscopy.
The doctors, nurses, anaesthetists were coming and going and were telling me what the procedure would entail. Due to misinformation I was told I would be getting put to sleep.
I explained to the nurse this wasn't so, as I had been told that I was getting Spinal sedation, after things were sorted out I was told that due to the lateness of this I would have to stay overnight, I told the nurse that would be okay but she then proceded to tell me that they would have to find a bed for me, if not, my procedure would have to be cancelled.
To say the least I was not happy at this suggestion. When everything got sorted out I was given a Spinal sedation, Knee done, put in a ward overnight, hobbled home the next day.
I can't complain about the staff in the Victoria, I found them most helpful, very obliging, and as for getting my Knee done with the Spinal I would do it again, I felt better for it rather than getting put to sleep, and while all this was getting done I had a good wee blether with the staff who spoke through what was getting done also shown what they were doing.
I cant thank them enough. Well done.
