About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / General Medicine ( wards G North, G South, J North, J South & L South)

(as a relative),

My Dad is 85 and has some chronic health issues, , he was recently admitted to Inverclyde Royal Hospital and stayed for around 7 weeks in J North mainly. The standard of nursing care was amazing and my Dad felt comfortable and relaxed in the ward, the nurses made us as a family feel very welcome.

The Consultant who looked after my Dad was outstanding, he treated my Dad as an individual and not as an 85 year old man, just as his patient who he tried his very best to get back to good baseline health. His care, compassion and communication was truly person centred.

Dad still has some obstacles ahead, however his  Consultant has coordinated his care beautifully with appointments being made as he promised and all  appointments within a short timeframe-well done IRH, 10/10 person centred high quality care.

Dear Elajy57

Thank you for your very kind feedback following your father's recent illness and admission to the IRH.

It is reassuring to read that despite many complex issues the staff delivered care to a high standard and was patient centered to his needs. Staff work hard to achieve this and receiving feedback of this nature is greatly appreciated.

I will share with the nursing and medical staff within the medical directorate.

I hope your father is making good progress after what must have been a difficult and stressful time for you all.
