"No outcome report from gynecological biopsies"

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I received two gynecological biopsies at the beginning of November. I was told at the time that results would be mailed in 3 or 4 weeks and if not received by then to call. I did not receive written results so allowed time and then contacted my g.p. (mid December 2018) to ask if they had received results but they had not and suggested I call the Dr's secretary for information. I did so (that day) and left my confidential contact details on an answerphone as the secretary was unavailable. I called a couple of days later to check my details and that the message had been received although I’d asked to be called back. This time, I spoke to the secretary who confirmed they had received my message and the details and assured me they’d explore and return my call. It is now 16 January and I have heard no more. I assume the biopsies were both normal as I wasn't unduly worried but I have no confirmation either way. Why bother going to an appointment, undergoing the difficult intimate experience and then never knowing any outcome? I felt it was a waste of time, very uncaring and that I am unimportant.
