"Came away with good advice and a plan for future care"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire

(as the patient),

Had to call in to see the GPs at The Murray Surgery, East Kilbride, as the GP I used to see retired. I called in with my wife for an appointment with one of the senior GPs to discuss some ongoing problems that i’m having and to discuss a way forward for treatment. The GP met us prior to going into the appointment and she advised that a nurse practitioner was in the room who we could ask to leave if we wanted but I was absolutely fine with him sitting in as everyone has to learn and i’m all for that.

The consultation was excellent from start to finish. I had many questions and issues that I had to raise all related to one illness but has a lot of different things going on at the same time. The doctor took her time and listened and advised on everything we asked. I felt I was given time to talk even though I’m pretty rubbish at this and wasn’t put under pressure or rushed in anyway. I felt I got across everything I needed to and received and came away with good advice and a plan for future care. Very professional from the outset. And all this while providing training to a colleague.

So just to say thank you to the doctor who I saw. I came away feeling reassured and positive and would like to thank you.

Dear Slim,

Thanks you so much for getting in touch with us with such a great expereince with your local GP practice. It's always nice to hear good news like this and I'm so glad the GP was able to spend time with you and give you reassurances.

GP's are independant contractors and so don't currently use Care Opinion. However, I'd love to share your post with the practice manager and the GP. If you are okay with me doing so, you can drop me an email or give us a quick call - our details are below.
