"Care at endoscopy Dept pilgrim hosp"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / General medicine

(as a service user),

My appointment was at 8. 30am for botox injections which I have to have every 3mnths. I saw nurse and was taken through to a cubicle where I sat on theatre bed until I was wheeled into theatre at 10. 45am. the nurse put canular into hand and there I sat as pharmacy doesn't open until 9am. my consultant took in another patient before which is fine had someone told me but they didn't. I in turn got very upset and stressed to the point I broke down in tears. I also have very bad back issues so having to sit on a hospital bed for over 2hrs including during the treatment today I can hardly move. If the Dept had been busy then fine but at 8. 30am it wasn't. Also appointments were wrong to book me me at that time when pharmacy were not open. I feel someone on endoscopy could surely have gone down to pharmacy or at least checked I was alright. No one came near until I broke down in tears and even then that was not a nurse. I have hate having to go through this treatment every 3mnths. and to be treated badly by staff.

Dear Candi

I am so sorry to hear about what happened to you today, could I ask that you contact me directly on Julie.scott@ulh.nhs.uk so that I can get some more detail to allow me to investigate?

Many Thanks

Julie Scott, Matron
