"Telephone response times"

About: The Portland Practice

I have been waiting on the phone to simply make an appointment with a practice nurse. I started off as number 2 in the queue and 60 minutes later I am number 1 in the queue.

I have just had a hip replacement, live alone, and cannot drive at the moment, otherwise it would have been much faster to drive to the surgery. Luckily I do not pay for phone calls, but what do people do who are charged for calls?

I consider this to be appalling service.

We are very sorry that you have had difficulties in contacting the practice nurses' receptionist.

We have recently upgraded our telephone system and we are working hard to improve the call answering time and provide an efficient service. If you still need to make an appointment and have not been able to do so please contact the Reception Manager directly and we will ensure that this has been done for you.
