"Labour and birth"

About: Borders General Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

After being admitted on the Thursday due to strong contractions and discharged on the Friday when they pretty much slowed to a glacial pace, our wee baby decided Christmas eve was the day he wanted to come instead.

I can't honestly think of a better team than the Labour and maternity ward at the Borders General hospital, our midwife Beth was such a gentle calming presence in the room and went well and truly above and beyond for us. She captured the fantastic Nicky and Dr philippa to help the wee man make his way into the world when they found he was a wee bit distressed.

Everyone was absolutely wonderful and I couldn't have imagined that labour would be so much less traumatic than I originally thought and its all thanks to the fantastic staff at the BGH.

Thankyou all from the bottom of our hearts

Congratulations on the birth of your son. I hope you are all doing well. Thank you for your kind words regarding those that were involved in your care. I shall share this feedback with them and I am sure the staff will be delighted to hear you felt well cared for.

Having a baby can be an anxious time and it is lovely to hear about your son's birth.

best wishes

Shona
