"Excellent triage call back service"

It's that time of the year again, a lingering cold has got to my sinuses... the pain in the cheeks, aching teeth and head aches...

I'd hoped it would pass, but after a wasted weekend of pain realised that I needed to get some antibiotics. Having a really busy Monday morning at work, I was unable to spend the morning on the phone trying to get an appointment. When I finally managed to sit down and call the surgery at 8.45am, I'd missed the appointments for the day. I was offered a triage call back system. The receptionist took my details and said a doctor would call back during the morning.

About 9.00am I received a phone call from a very understanding doctor. The doctor had my notes up on the computer screen and could see that I have a tendency to get sinusitis. They prescribed the antibiotics and sent the electronic prescription to my choice of chemist. Absolutely brilliant! By the end of the work day my tablets were waiting for me at the chemist, and I'd not had to leave my office/miss any work. Excellent system for those simple cases where a full appointment is not required.
