"Day surgery - Treatment Centre"

About: Lister Hospital

I brought my husband to this department at 07.30 this morning to find it chaotic to say the least. All but 2 seats taken in the waiting area and on checking in at reception giben paperwork to check with no Good Morning - nothing just check persons phone number who is bringing you home is correct in a surly manner! As said very crowded, very warm and as my husband has C.O.P.D I told the receptionist it would not be viable for him to sit (if we could find a seat by then) in this envoirnment due to his condition to be asked with an expressionless face and do not care attitude 'What Condition? Went on to say about his C.O.P.D - response - 'well he will have to wait there' Shortly from here a male with a clipboard appeared again non welcoming or calming attitude 'Whats your name? Husband told him - looked at his list 'Come with me' very abrupt!

Not at all satisfied not only with their manner but the fact that due to his conditionj on top of other health problems this was a very anxious time for him!

Attitude, patient awarenness, less cramped conditions and general caring needs to be addressed. I would like from here a response from the head of this department as not at all happy! Thsi i will reiterate was for an orthapedic operation on level 4 of the treatment centre.

Thank you for your review - we're very sorry to hear about you and your husband's experience of day surgery. We will be sharing your review with the senior team there and we will let them know that you would like to hear back from the head of the department. If your husband is having on-going treatment with us, we would also recommend getting in touch with our patient advice and liaison service (PALS) - as they are best placed to deal with any issues you are facing. Their contact details are available on our website: https://www.enherts-tr.nhs.uk/patients-visitors/advice-and-support/pals/
