My Father

About: Southmead Hospital / Vascular surgery

(as a relative),

My dad was given a date for his operation and went in for his pre-op appointment three days before. When he got home he had a call to say it had been postponed for three days. A couple of days later he received another call to say it had been cancelled for another month.

He suffers with anxiety and now thinking he may cancel altogether. This means he will be left with limited mobility as he is due to have vascular surgery. He suffers with terrible pain in his hips and legs.

I am so worried about him losing his independence and the stress it is causing. But what can we do?

I am sorry to hear that your dad has had his surgery postponed and cancelled. I am not sure why this has happened as I don't have your dad's details to check.
