"Absolutely disgusted."

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham

So upset and distressed. . My husband has had a horrible time at the QE today.

Booked in for a colonoscopy to check for blood loss because of his severe anaemia and need for blood transfusion. He also has severe heart failure.

Been through the unpleasant clear out process during last two days. Living on lime cordial and oxo cubes in water.

He goes in for the procedure. And is told he can’t have it. They can’t deal with ‘defibrillator’ patients at weekends. Only weekdays.

There was nothing in the paperwork to indicate this.

This is already an urgent ‘2 week wait’ procedure that we’ve waited 3 weeks for. Now it may be another two weeks.

Everyone is blaming someone else.

They don’t have a complaints person in on a Sunday. I think if they’re offering medical procedures 7 days a week then they have managers in 7 days a week. They’ll just have to get someone brought in.
