"Fast attention in a & E"

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital

I fell on the day of the ice-storm in Halifax, Dec 15th 2018., and hurt my leg. I had visitors and hoped it did not need a visit to A and E. However, I had to go 3 days' later.

The wait for attention was not as long as I had feared, and the diagnosis of a break in the right fibula was attended to quickly.I was given a boot to wear after discussion with the practitioner.

He was most helpful as were the staff in the X-ray department and admin.

The only negative is that I have not had a follow-up appointment which I am still waiting

for - it is

January 10th now.

Thank you for sharing the feedback about your experience in our Emergency Department, and I'm sorry you've not yet had a follow-up letter. The appointments team are busy at the moment due to a technical issue with our appointment letter supplier, so may I suggest you call back another day or email them? Where patients have registered a mobile phone number with us we send an initial letter to their phone, followed up by a paper coy if not accessed within 48 hours.

The number is : 0800 0 158 222, or email appointments@cht.nhs.uk

Hope you are on the mend soon.
