"My daughter's experience of having her finger operated on"

About: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

My 12 year old daughter required an emergency operation after breaking her finger doing gymnastics. From the moment we arrived on the paediatric ward she was put at her ease. The nurses were so friendly and chatty and made her feel so at home.

She honestly loved the whole experience,  even immediately before and after her general anaesthetic. The new hospital felt lovely and clean but the main thing was the friendliness of the nursing staff - so much so that she is thinking of becoming a nurse when she is older! Special thanks to Fiona and Sarah (hope I have got Sarah's name right!).

Dear Mum of four,

Thank you for taking the time to share your daughter's story and for your lovely feedback. I will ensure that it is passed on to the team, I know they will be very touched by your kind words.

I am delighted to hear that your daughter is thinking of becoming a nurse. Please pass on our best wishes to her for her recovery and her future studies.

Kindest regards

Emma
