"Recent operative/operative care for my husband W26"

About: Glenfield Hospital

This experience was of course stressful and I am sure it is for everyone having an operation. The staff on this ward from the auxiliary staff to consultant surgeons was wonderful. They treat everyone inc relatives with dignity and respect leaving no stones unturned with support and information. They did everything they could to ensure we were cared for and were always there for support if need be. We were involved and informed every step of the way in a warm friendly manner. By far the most positive experience we have had with hospitals over the years either as patients or close relatives visiting. Cleanliness on the ward was obviously a priority too which was comforting given the press reports of super bugs etc. The only exception to this was the day room on W26/27 which on the surface looked clean but the furniture had not been moved regularly as down the sides of the sofa was very dirty strewn with dirty tissues etc. The nursing staff are incredibly patient under difficult circumstances at time. Simply amazing. You know who you are. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Mike and Jane

Dear Molly,

Thank you for leaving your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your husband recently had to undergo an operation and wish him a speedy and healthy recovery. We are pleased that our staff made the experience at Glenfield Hospital comfortable and were supportive throughout. We will make sure to pass this onto the Respiratory Medicine management team, including your comments about the day room on Ward 26 and 27, and we wish you and your husband all the best.

Have you considered nominating a member of staff or team for our Caring at its Best awards? Further information is available on our website: https://www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/aboutus/our-purpose-strategy-and-values/caring-at-its-best-awards/public-nomination-form/
