This experience was of course stressful and I am sure it is for everyone having an operation. The staff on this ward from the auxiliary staff to consultant surgeons was wonderful. They treat everyone inc relatives with dignity and respect leaving no stones unturned with support and information. They did everything they could to ensure we were cared for and were always there for support if need be. We were involved and informed every step of the way in a warm friendly manner. By far the most positive experience we have had with hospitals over the years either as patients or close relatives visiting. Cleanliness on the ward was obviously a priority too which was comforting given the press reports of super bugs etc. The only exception to this was the day room on W26/27 which on the surface looked clean but the furniture had not been moved regularly as down the sides of the sofa was very dirty strewn with dirty tissues etc. The nursing staff are incredibly patient under difficult circumstances at time. Simply amazing. You know who you are. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Mike and Jane
