"A and E on Christmas Day"

I attended A and E at the Royal Sussex Hospital on Christmas Day 2018, following a call to 111 and an out of hours doctors appointment. I was suffering from bad pain in my tummy that could have been appendicitis.

I am so grateful to all the staff in A and E for being on duty on Christmas Day. They were kind and caring, and very professional. There was great communication between all the different parts of the team as I was given various tests and pain relief. I was in a lot of pain, and scared of it getting worse and felt lucky to be in A and E where I knew I would be looked after.

I was sent home at midnight following lots of tests and a scan, ruling out appendicitis, and am now having others tests arranged by my own doctor.

Thank you so much to all the staff who were on duty that day, I am so grateful for all their help, and very admiring of their confidence and abilities.
