My wife and I have been through 2 miscarriages which were dealt with my Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral which kept us well informed and well cared for. We were offered the chance of being referred to the Liverpool Womens hospital due to it being a specialist hospital and having a shorter waiting list. We agreed to the referral but now wish we hadn't. Since our first appointment in July it has been a calamity of errors. Waiting over 2 months for blood results which we had to chase and still haven't received a written letter to confirm results and the alterations to my wife's medication, appointments being cancelled by the hospital and then receiving letters confirming the initial dates for the appointment, receiving appointments to discuss results before any procedures where done, Being transferred to different clinics within the hospital without our knowledge and when we have challenged the appointments we have found they are not needed. My wife is now in the very early stage of pregnancy and attended an appointment with our consultant and we were told by him and his Nurse that we would have an initial scan on 14th January but could not confirm the time but we would get a letter through the post. We said that would be fine and have arranged with our work places to have the time off for both of us to attend this scan with it being a very anxious time. We have now received a letter stating that the scan is on the 21st January at 9.30am! At this point I don't know why we are surprised by these errors. We seem to speak to various people at your hospital more then our own friends and family at the moment due to chasing appointments and blood results. Bearing in mind that you are providing medical care for people who are trying for children following multiple miscarriages or who are are expecting children you are adding a lot of stress through blunders and errors!
