I've had Tonsillitis for over a week and yesterday it got so bad that I couldn't swallow anything, not even water. After a couple of doctors appointments, I was referred to the ENT unit here and everyone was so lovely.
Thankfully they looked and saw that I didn't have a Quincy abscess in my throat, but they were concerned that I couldn't drink or eat, and hadn't since the evening before, but also I couldn't take my medication because of it. They got a specialist to come in and double check, and it was decided that I'd be in hospital overnight and I'm so thankful. I had antibiotics and steroids in through a cannula, plus painkillers and fluids through a drip. This morning I managed some water and some food and I'm feeling so much better already!
I can't thank Worthing hospital and the ENT unit enough, every member of staff was so kind. From the people at reception, to the people who treated me. I am so thankful!
